Cove Island Sunset / by Ted Kaiser

Thanks to the amazing nautical services of Captain Bill Gowland, I had a chance to photograph Cove Island on Labour Day Weekend. The Cove Island Light and station are amazing; the complex of light-keeping buildings on the island vividly evokes the history of navigation on the Great Lakes. As a bonus, we got to see the Chi-Cheemaun ferry heading for Tobermory in the late afternoon and then again on the return to Manitoulin Island at sunset, passing closely by Cove Island both times.. So many great views by boat from here!
